MERRIAM, KS—July 19, 2013—IBT Industrial Solutions has moved their Lubbock, Texas operations to a larger facility in order to offer enhanced screw conveyor capabilities to their customers in the Panhandle area. The new facility is located at 111 Slaton Road in Lubbock, and will service businesses in both the Lubbock and Amarillo areas.
“Our new location is easily accessible to customers and will carry inventory that better serves the West Texas market,” said Dwayne Williams, General Manager of the IBT store in Lubbock. “We are tremendously excited about our growth in the screw conveyor market, and happy to offer better service to our customers.”
The Lubbock branch of IBT will now carry more than 150 different components for screw conveyors—including conveyor shafts, drive shafts, gearboxes, bushings, and hubs.
“Screw conveyors are a vital product to our customer base in the Panhandle of Texas,” said Jeff Cloud, the Regional Manager for IBT in Lubbock. “We’re growing in this marketplace and feel the time is right to expand our local inventory on this specific product line.”
Williams said that the new, larger facility gives them the space to carry more equipment for their customers—especially grain distributors, feed lots, cotton gins, peanut facilities, bulk resource manufacturers, and even a sodium sulfate processing facility.
“We’re now in a more industrial part of town, with 180 feet of road frontage,” said Williams. “With the new space, we’re now carrying 30 different products from multiple manufacturers, in 6 or 7 different sizes each.”
“This is definitely a better location for our customers, with easier accessibility and a bigger breadth of product,” said Cloud. “The new location allows IBT the space and ability to inventory a larger quantity of products to fulfill customer demand.”
Justin Tomasini is a Purchasing and Maintenance Manager at Cooper Natural Resources near Loop, Texas. He said that he often calls IBT in Lubbock when he needs a screw or motor, because IBT not only delivers the best pricing—but can also recommend the best solutions for their business.
“Some of our equipment has worked for so long, we don’t know the original part anymore,” said Tomasini. “IBT not only helps us choose the correct part, but they also bring the part to us, even if it’s 2:00 in the morning—and we’re an hour’s drive away. Their service is absolutely outstanding.”
Tomasini added that IBT has also helped them find ways to get more life out of their equipment. He said that sodium sulfate, which is produced by the company, can be very corrosive.
“IBT helps us find salt-resistant equipment, which is a big help to us,” said Tomasini. “Salt can literally ‘eat’ the screws, so they galvanize them for us. All the folks at IBT in Lubbock are very knowledgeable, and take the extra step to help us wherever they can.”
The first IBT office in Lubbock opened in the downtown district in 1992, at 1401 Avenue F. However, Williams said that the original space was “very limited, with a small lot for screw conveyor equipment.”
“We’re committed to finding out what our customers need for their business, and keeping it in stock,” said Williams, who’s been with IBT for 18 years. He added that their team has significant experience and training in the optimal use of screw conveyor drives and power transmission equipment. “This is really what we need to help customers grow, and reduce their downtime for years to come.”
