New Norgren Redundant Valve Manifold Offers Greater Safety, Reliability

Learn more about Norgren

The new Norgren Redundant Valve Manifold (RVM) system reduces unplanned interruptions to production—and minimizes the health and safety risks of mechanical problems and system failures.

“This technology is ideal for heavy industry, where downtime can cost as much as $1 million per day—or wherever emergency shutdown is critical to protect personnel and property,” said Steve Nagy, a Field Engineering Advantage Manager for Norgren. “In these operations, it’s absolutely essential for the solenoid valves to be reliable and safe, or else the operation of the entire plant could be adversely affected.”

Ideal for Heavy Industry

The Norgren Redundant Valve Manifold is well-suited for businesses in a variety of heavy industries, including:

  • Chemical plants
  • Oil refineries
  • Gas transmission/production
  • Fertilizer
  • Steel mills
  • Power plants
  • Paper mills

Works in Challenging Environments

The compact, modular RVM units are simple to install and easier to maintain than the older models.  They combine all the functionality of Herion valves and Maxseal valves, but with only one inlet and outlet.

“We took a proven technology from over 15 years ago, and essentially repackaged it to make it easier for installation and maintenance,” Nagy said.

The Norgren Redundant Valve Manifold works in all possible combinations—including 1oo2, 2oo2, and 2oo3—and is fully SIL approved.  It is currently classified at Safety Integrity Level 4, and can operate in any temperature from -60°C to 90°C.

“These valves offer additional safety of operation by providing redundancy of components,” Nagy said.  “The Norgren RVM is simple, robust, and safe.”
