The trusted Koyo Bearings name is back.

Koyo has manufactured bearings for industrial and automotive applications since 1921. In 2022, the bearing brand began transitioning to the JTEKT name as part of a broader global brand unification. Today, these products are once again being marketed under the familiar Koyo Bearings name.

The name may have changed and changed back, but the products, manufacturing expertise, and people behind them remain part of JTEKT Corporation. Customers who previously purchased Koyo or JTEKT bearings can continue to rely on the same bearing knowledge and product support.

Bearing Solutions for Demanding Applications

Koyo manufactures ball, needle, and roller bearings for original equipment and industrial aftermarket applications. Its bearings are used across industries such as agriculture, aerospace, electric motors, machine tools, material handling, pumps, power sports, steel production, and wind energy.

The Koyo product range covers everything from miniature bearings to extremely large bearings for heavy industrial equipment. Application-specific designs are also available for demanding operating conditions involving high speeds, heavy loads, limited installation space, contamination, corrosion, temperature extremes, or vacuum environments.

IBT can help you identify and source the right Koyo bearing based on your equipment, operating conditions, load requirements, speed, available space, and maintenance needs.

Koyo Bearing Products

Ball Bearings

Koyo ball bearings are available in multiple designs for a wide range of speeds, loads, and equipment configurations.

  • Deep Groove Ball Bearings: Commonly used in electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and other rotating equipment. They primarily support radial loads and can accommodate axial loads in both directions within the bearing’s design limits.
  • Angular Contact Ball Bearings: Designed for applications involving combined radial and axial loads. They are commonly selected where accuracy, rigidity, or high-speed performance is important.
  • Thrust Ball Bearings: Designed primarily to support axial loads and available for one-directional or bidirectional loading.
  • Self-Aligning Ball Bearings: Help accommodate certain alignment differences between a shaft and housing.

Needle Roller Bearings

Koyo offers inch and metric needle roller bearings for applications that require substantial radial load capacity within a limited radial space.

Available designs include drawn-cup needle bearings, heavy-duty needle bearings, track rollers, thrust assemblies, roller clutches, and combined needle-and-thrust bearings. These compact designs are used in industrial machinery, power transmission equipment, pumps, agricultural equipment, automotive systems, and other space-constrained applications.

Tapered Roller Bearings

Koyo tapered roller bearings are designed to support combined radial and axial loads. Their line-contact design makes them well suited for applications involving heavy loads and impact.

Single-row, double-row, and four-row configurations are available for equipment ranging from industrial gearboxes and mobile machinery to rolling mills and automotive systems.

Spherical Roller Bearings

Koyo spherical roller bearings combine high radial load capacity with the ability to accommodate certain shaft or housing misalignment. They are commonly used in heavy-duty equipment that may experience shock, vibration, deflection, or challenging installation conditions.

Cylindrical Roller Bearings

Koyo cylindrical roller bearings provide high radial load capacity through line contact between the rollers and raceways. Depending on the selected design, they can also support limited axial loads or allow axial displacement between the shaft and housing.

EXSEV Bearings for Special Environments

Koyo EXSEV bearings are engineered for operating conditions that standard bearing materials and lubricants may not tolerate. Available solutions address environments involving:

  • High temperatures
  • Vacuum conditions
  • Corrosive chemicals or atmospheres
  • Low particle-emission requirements
  • Magnetic or electrical restrictions
  • Limited or specialized lubrication

Final selection should be based on the specific temperature, load, speed, atmosphere, lubrication, and material-compatibility requirements of the application.

Bearing Installation and Maintenance Tools

Koyo also offers tools for bearing installation and removal, including induction heaters and bearing pullers. Using the correct tools and installation procedures can help prevent mounting damage and support reliable bearing performance.
