Looking for an easy, affordable way to protect your tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment from water, ice, and mud?
Repels Water, Ice, Mud
Rust-Oleum’s NeverWet treatment repels water, ice, mud, and water-based food products—even those as dense as syrup and chocolate pudding—and can be used indoors and outdoors with equally good results.
“This spray creates an unprecedented moisture-repelling barrier,” said Wes Voorhees, an Account Manager for Rust-Oleum Industrial Brands. “It’s the most unique product on the market today.”
Works on Many Surfaces
NeverWet comes in a 2-can kit—a base coat, plus a top coat—that retails for around $20. It is dry and ready for traffic in approximately 60 minutes.
NeverWet can be used on:
- Metal
- Wood
- Aluminum
- Vinyl siding
- Canvas
- Fiberglass
- Concrete
- Plastic
Hundreds of Applications
Voorhees said that customers have used NeverWet on everything from truck beds, to tools, shoes, gloves, industrial equipment, and personal protective equipment.
“We’re listening to our customers and testing it on new surfaces every day,” Voorhees said. “It’s ideal for any place where you don’t want water buildup. It’s a very versatile product.”

“Superhydrophobic” Formula
The secret is in the superhydrophobic formula, which causes water to form perfect spheres and roll off the surface.
“After treating with NeverWet, the surface becomes literally ‘afraid’ of water,” Voorhees explains. “It forms into a bead that simply rolls off the surface.”
As a result of this performance, Voorhees said that NeverWet has sold at a very rapid pace since being introduced into the market in July 2013.
“We want to prove to people that this product is for real—it’s not just hype,” Voorhees said. “Time and again, customers come back and tell us that they are amazed it works as well as we say it will. And it does.”
